Welcome

The Listed Places of Worship: Roof Repair Fund is for urgent repairs to public places of worship across the UK.

This government-sponsored fund was set up to help make the UK’s listed places of worship weather-tight, safe and open for use. It is administered by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The Listed Places of Worship: Roof Repair Fund is now closed to new applications. Alternative funding for listed places of worship is available from other sources such as the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Decisions on applications made in the second round of this programme were made at the NHMF Board meeting on 28 June and announced on 6 July 2016.

Programme evaluation

In April 2017, NHMF carried out an evaluation of the programme: to establish the extent to which the intended outcomes have been achieved and obtain useful feedback to be used in developing future grant programmes.
